Mortgage and Finance
We have arrangements in place with a number of leading French mortgage providers, including Credit Immobilier de France (CIF), UCB (formerly Abbey National France and part of the BNP-Paribas Group) and GE Capital. These arrangements provide for a simplified and streamlined application and approval process.
We handle the entire mortgage application process and the necessary documentation is in both English and French. Because the mortgages are self-financing the criteria are, in general, less demanding than for other forms of mortgage finance.
Because French interest rates are significantly less than in the UK or the US, (as at 16 November the relevant bank base rates were as follows):
• France (Euro) 3.25%
• UK 5.00%
• US 5.25%
our French mortgages are significantly cheaper than can be found in either Britain or the United States. In addition, the ability to secure long term fixed rate finance in many cases removes one of the principal risks of property investment.
